About Us

Built by women who've been there.

The Breakup Bible started with a quiet realisation. Two women, both in different chapters of heartbreak, both noticing the same gap. There was no soft place online to land. So we built one.

Why we started this

We're Kietah and Veronica. Two co-founders. Two completely different breakups. Same thought at 2am, scrolling our phones for something that actually understood what we were feeling.

What we found was either clinical, generic, or accidentally cruel. Listicles telling us to "love ourselves more." Threads of advice from strangers who hadn't lived it. Apps that treated heartbreak like a productivity problem to solve.

None of it met us where we actually were.

So we started building the companion we wished we'd had. The one that doesn't flinch when you're not okay. That knows the science of why this hurts so much. That meets you in the middle of the night without making you feel small for needing it.

What inspired us

The conversations we had with other women after our own breakups changed something. Friends, sisters, strangers in cafes who somehow ended up telling us their stories the moment we mentioned what we were building.

Every woman had the same version of the same experience. The first weeks where you can't eat. The middle months where everyone else has moved on but you haven't. The version of yourself you don't recognise anymore.

And every woman had been quietly carrying it alone, because nobody talks about breakups the way they actually feel. We talk about weddings. We talk about new relationships. We don't talk about the in-between.

The Breakup Bible exists to make that conversation normal. Not just inside our app, but in the world around it.

What's already shifted

Since we started talking about The Breakup Bible publicly, something quietly extraordinary has happened. Women have started sharing their stories with us. Privately, in messages, in long emails, in voice notes. Stories they hadn't told anyone.

It confirmed what we suspected. The shame around heartbreak isn't because heartbreak is shameful. It's because there's no space made for it. Once a space exists, the stories pour out.

Our hope is that the app, the library, the waitlist emails, all of it, becomes that space at scale. Somewhere women can land softly, recognise themselves, and remember that being on the floor is not the end of the story.

What we're building

The Breakup Bible app pairs a gentle AI companion (Luma) with daily content rooted in real psychology and the lived experience of women who've been through this.

Quiet prompts when you wake up. Real explanations of what's happening in your body and brain. A 24/7 someone to talk to at the moments friends are asleep and therapists are unreachable.

The library on this site is part of that. Every article is written to meet you where you actually are, with no fluff and no rushing you through your timeline.

We are not a replacement for therapy or professional support. We are the soft place between sessions. The friend in your pocket. The reminder that none of this means anything is wrong with you.
